flowers for lori: another memorial project?

Flowers1S2You can read the whole story over on Too Sexy, but to keep things short: Amy Scher, who is currently in India receiving Embryonic Stem Cell treatment, recently placed these beautiful flowers near a lake in New Delhi as a memorial for Lori.

I told her Lori’s favorite colors (burgundies, reds, and purples,) and Amy just ran with it from there. She was kind enough to send me four great photos the very same day (see post,) including a nearly miraculous cloud formation in the shape of angel’s wings.

Which got me thinking… this could be the beginning of another great Memorial Project for Lori!

So anyway, I’m not going to twist any arms here, but if any of you have an inclination to lay out a few lovely flowers in memory of Lori––perhaps during your next vacation, or even at some lovely sacred space near your home––please feel free to take a few photos for me, and I’ll be more than happy to share them on toosexyformyhair.

Lori loved to get out and see the far reaches of the world, and I know she would be ecstatic to see her life being commemorated in this fleeting, but beautiful, way.

God Bless,

C.

    Cary,

What a sweet idea! Especially since Lori was such a shutterbug.

I was telling Kizzy the last time I talked to her that I am getting to know both you and Lori better than I ever have through your blogs. I’m kicking myself for not pushing our friendship past the acquaintance phase. Its crazy how you can know somebody for years and never REALLY get to know them. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to learn about how awesome you both are! I really enjoy reading your blog and check in here a few times a week. Even if I don’t comment often, know that I am thinking about you.

I just took some great pictures in New Orleans that I have yet to develop, which I will share with you once I do (I know, I’m old fashioned- I haven’t updated to digital yet).

Good luck making it to Grass Valley next week. I hope it brings you some peace in the new year.

    Much love,
    Kelly

This is a lovely idea. There’s a labyrinth in Sibley Park in the East Bay (its a walking meditation labyrinth) that I’m hoping to get to in the next few weeks. I mentioned this to Heidi, too - so maybe we’ll be able to have a nice little hike and then place some flowers in the center of the labyrinth and take a pic for Lori’s memorial.

    Hey Cary,
I barely knew Lori (I’m a friend of your sis), and I don’t think I’ve ever actually met you. But I read these blogs and I’m blown away by their beauty, even if they usually reduce me to tears. You honor her. You’ve both been in my heart these past months and have given me a deeper appreciation for all I have. Thanks for that. You’ve got friends out here.
