finding my way back to the guitar… again?

'67 Gibson SG Special & '69 C.Milleri’m happy to say that i seem to finally be making my way back to music…

for whatever reason, it has happened in fits and starts, and for the last month or so i hadn’t even touched any of my guitars. but as you can see from the picture here, that is changing once again.

too early to say how long it will stick, but i’m hoping it’s for good this time.

while lori was sick it seemed i never had time to play, nor really the inclination, but finding my way back to self-expression in all of its forms has definitely played a large part in the speed and intensity of my recovery.

this photo is of me and my ‘67 Gibson SG re-issue––a beautiful instrument i purchased not long after lori passed away, but which has been languishing in its case for quite a few months.

i think it’s time i got to know this beauty a little better…. and it feels good.

  • Cary getting back finally to the guitar and enjoying those moments with it sounds like you are finally letting yourself start to live again, for that I’m so happy for you dear. Keep moving forward like that, keeping taking it one day at a time…you should have earned the right to some peace in your heart. Arlene (AJ)

  • Now thats a familiar and welcomed site.
There are those that pass through our lives quickly and leave lasting impressions. This photo of you with a gitarre reminds me of much; of youth, of wonder, of Night Swimming ( I’m not sure all these people understand. It’s not like years ago-the fear of getting caught… )
I find myself in awe, once again, of the tenacity, the resiliency of spirit. Fragile yet durable. Like our skin that stretches to accomodate our contortions
    in these bodies
    we inhabit
    so briefly.
The river knows, the water flows, the same while changing.
What is this insistence? From where does it come? I’ll meet you at the waters edge. Blessings, wendy.

  • Hey Cary,

I can identify with getting back to things. The past few years for me have been sort of lost and just now I am finding myself again (the things I truly enjoy, you know, just being me).

It is nice to find that creative energy, I can see you know what I mean by your pictures.

BTW: Love the freckles! (suck a cutie)…

    Take care.

    Kindly,
    E

  • Hello Cary,

I don’t know if you remeber me, but I am Leticia, Lori’s cousin! I took care of your house and doggies once while you went on vacation to Hawaii. I was thinking about Lori and how we were both HUGE U2 fans so I visited her old blog “too sexy for my hair”. I just wanted to drop in and say hello!
Anywayz… totally dig your guitar, its way cooler than mine! You should check out my bands web site at http://www.myspace.com/derspazm
Well Take care and KEEP PLAYING!!!
